The Women of the Raleigh Graduate Chapter of Swing Phi Swing Social Fellowship, Inc.® present a leadership award annually.

Awardees:

2007 Recipient: Ms. Laura Hilton received the Leadership Award. Ms. Hilton is the Director of Communications and Community Education & Training with Interact, a Wake County non-profit United Way Agency that serves victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

2006 Recipient, Mr. Bruce Lightner. As founder of the Raleigh King Committee in 1982, Mr. Lightner has distinguished himself as a servant for people, his community, and the tradition of which Dr. King's legacy manifested itself.

Also in 2006, Ms. Gloria Johnson was the recipient of the Leadership Award. Ms. Johnson was recognized for her untiring dedication to Save Our Sisters- Breast Cancer Resource Center.

2005 Recipient, Mike Phillips, of the Leadership Award. Mike Phillips is the owner of MEN AT WORK, Car Care Center. Mr. Phillips hire ex convicts to detail cars. He recognizes the fact that finding employment is difficult for these
young people.

2004 Recipient, Mr. Ed Hall, is well known in Raleigh as a trailblazer in the African American community, radio (WLLE A.M. station) and gospel circles. He currently has a radio show on WSHA, 88.9FM (where jazz lives, with community service) every Sunday morning from 9AM - 9:30AM.

2003 Recipient of the Leadership Aaward the late Ms. Jorean Debnam. Ms. Debnam was the Founder of the New Bern Avenue Day Care center. Unfortunately, Ms. Debnam succumbed to cancer. Raleigh Grad is truly grateful for her dedication and hard work within our community. She will truly be missed.

Past Raleigh Grad. President Tina Quiller-Morgan was afforded the opportunity to present the great Iyanla Vanzant with a Leadership plaque at one of the past Women's Empowerment Seminars held in Raleigh, North Carolina. The plaque was in recognition of the tremendous contributions Ms. Vanzant has made in empowering women.
